Interceptor Framework

This file contains release notes for the Rhaspody Interceptor framework, which permits applications to take over the entire screen display from the Window Server.

Notes Specific to Rhapsody Developer Release

New Features

The Interceptor framework is a public framework new since OPENSTEP 4.2 (NeXT). It consists of three classes:

• The NSDirectBitmap class provides direct access to screen memory or a screen format backing store using a bitmap representation.
  
  
• The NSDirectScreen class permits programs to capture and reconfigure a display device or screen.
  
  
• The NSDirectPalette provides a representation of the hardware palette and is used with NSDirectScreen to manipulate the hardware palette.

The reference documentation on these classes (accessible through the above links) is in a preliminary state. Complete reference documentation for the Interceptor framework will be available in the Premier release.

This is a preliminary API. Exact method names and details of functionality may change before the Premier release.
